ShaLisa Dumas has been a part of ACCESS since 2017. She previously served as the Waiver Director and now works in ACCESS's AERC and Academy as a Qualified Behavior Instructor (QBHP). ShaLisa enjoys working with children from all walks of life and lives by the motto: "Although you have a disability, you also have an ability." She believes that each person can learn in many different ways, and the key to her success in the mental health field lies in being consistent, showing empathy, and having patience.
Before joining ACCESS, ShaLisa worked in education and mental health for 16 years. She holds a Bachelor of Science from Oklahoma Christian University, specializing in education, psychology, and Bible. ShaLisa's favorite aspect of working at ACCESS is seeing many lives being changed in innovative ways.
Outside of her work at ACCESS, ShaLisa enjoys listening to music, spending time with her 8-year-old son, Brandon—who is an ACCESS Early Childhood alum—buying sneakers, traveling, and tasting coffee. Fun fact: ShaLisa is a twin and was born 45 minutes after her sister.
