ACCESS physical therapists integrate students into the community by assisting them in using their skills throughout various environments.
Modified PE Curriculum
The ACCESS Preschool students participate in a customized physical education program written by ACCESS therapists. This program, Gators in Motion, focuses on a children's gross motor development involving ball skills, locomotion, strength and endurance, balance and endurance.
Special Olympics
ACCESS physical therapists work with students on skills needed to successfully compete in Special Olympics. Therapists and teachers serve as coaches for track and swim teams. The Special Olympics program allows students to compete athletically while they focus on development of other skills including self-confidence, school spirit, teamwork, attitude, self-esteem and healthy competition.
