Reading
Staff at ACCESS are certified in three multisensory phonics approaches including The DuBard Association Method™, Orton Gillingham and Lindamood-Bell.
Orton Gillingham utilizes visual, auditory and kinesthetic learning styles. The program provides students with immediate feedback and a predictable sequence that integrates reading, writing and spelling.
Lindamood-Bell is a method that integrates auditory, visual and language processes. Lindamood-Bell focuses on the ability to decode, comprehend written language, comprehend oral language, spell and think critically. When these abilities are in place, a student can successfully learn content.
The DuBard Association Method™ is an approach specifically identified for the language-impaired population. It has a strong emphasis on comprehension, vocabulary, sentence structure and written expression.
