Work Experiences
The high school class is designed to allow students to experience on-site jobs. Currently, students in this class participate in a wide range of jobs including office assistants, gardening, custodial services, restaurant services and retail. Through project-based learning, the students are exposed to aspects of marketing and packaging products for sale. On-site experiences not only expose the students to different types of work but give them an opportunity to practice essential job skills, like time management, work efficiency and developing good work ethics – all in a supportive educational environment.
The high school class offers rotating vocational classes such as applied home economics and horticulture that give more in-depth information on tasks and skills related to these specific areas of work. The class uses curriculum specifically written for the needs of the students and includes hands-on experiences, modified textbooks, study guides and lab manuals to help the learning process for these students.
