Individual technology consultations and school demonstrations are available. Educational technology consultations in our hands-on lab are for students, parents, and educators considering the use of software or equipment. Educational technology is an enormous investment for most families. The opportunity to see and use technology gives parents or educators the opportunity to ask necessary questions and decide if the technology is an appropriate investment. Once a purchase has been made, technology tutoring sessions can facilitate implementation of the software or equipment.
Technology is the most powerful when it is incorporated into a students day. Therefore, teachers are the critical link between students and technology. Students are directly impacted when teachers are empowered with tools and strategies to facilitate learning. Technology is only a tool, it is useless without educators to implement it and incorporate it throughout the day. The ACCESS Evaluation and Resource Center provides a series of professional development courses. Courses are offered in small groups of 12-18 participants and are designed to teach a specific skill or strategy. Participants apply what they have learned through our hands-on lab. Participants can expect to walk away from our courses with knowledge and materials that can be implemented immediately. Some of our courses even include the software!
