Academic Therapy
ACCESS Academic Therapy services offer more than the average tutoring found in other centers. We offer academic therapy to focus on the remediation of reading, spelling, comprehension and written expression. ACCESS uses an Orton-Gillingham-based phonics approach for reading and spelling. The ACCESS written expression and comprehension program uses a language-based format with principals of visual literacy. When applicable, educational technology is used as a tool along with other therapy approaches. These proven methods have proven to be very successful for students with learning disabilities, Attention Deficit Disorder (ADHD), dyslexia, written expression disorders (dysgraphia), reading disorder, childhood apraxia of speech and autism spectrum disorders.
Pediatric Therapy
The ACCESS Therapy team is highly skilled and specializes in a variety of areas including receptive and expressive therapy, pragmatics, childhood apraxia of speech, brain-based learning, reading, therapeutic feeding (or dysphagia), technology, aided language stimulation, visual learning strategies, Neuro-developmental Therapy (NDT), sensory integration, vision therapy, handwriting, balance, coordination and attending.
The ACCESS Therapy program offers outpatient pediatric speech therapy, pediatric occupational therapy and pediatric physical therapy to the greater Little Rock community and to ACCESS Schools students. The ACCESS Therapy program uses proven methods and is the most progressive and successful outpatient pediatric therapy service in Arkansas.
Academic therapy (specialized tutoring) is available to assist students with math, spelling, reading, comprehension, written expression, study skills and organizational skills.
