Lower School
The Lower School is generally considered the K-3 grades at ACCESS Academy, although the classrooms do not follow a traditional division by student age. These classrooms focus on not only on oral expression, literature, reading instruction and other aspects of the main Academy curriculum but also on the development of classroom independence. This prepares students for elementary-school-level academic work and classroom expectations.
The Lower School 1 classroom serves students ages 5-6 who are at the beginning levels of instruction for The DuBard Association Method®. All reading in this classroom is taught in small group instruction.
The Lower School 2 classroom serves students ages 6-8 who remain at the basic level of instruction for The DuBard Association Method®. All reading in this classroom is taught in small group instruction.
