APA and Booster Club Events: Volunteers Needed!
The following is a list of upcoming APA activities. Please choose one or two that match your interests and volunteer to help make them as successful as possible. Contact Leah Shell, APA president, at APA@accessschools.org to volunteer.
ACCESS Homeroom Parents
• Notify parents of class parties, teacher birthdays and volunteer opportunities
• Coordinate and assemble class basket for ACCESS Gala, including selecting a basket theme, collecting donations from class parents and purchasing/assembling items in the basket
• Coordinate and assist teachers with class parties
• Help APA coordinate class volunteers for events
APA New Parent Party
Early August, Date and Time TBD
The new parent party offers new parents the opportunity to meet other parents and learn more about ACCESS programs and fundraisers. The APA hosts this annual event, providing refreshments and a speaker to represent our group.
Volunteers are needed to purchase and serve refreshments and help with event setup/teardown.
APA Sally Foster and Entertainment Book Fundraiser
August and September, Date and Time TBD
August is Sally Foster and Entertainment Book time! Quality products and practical gift-giving ideas in the Sally Foster catalog include gift wrap, chocolates, home décor and more. The popular Entertainment Books include savings on restaurants, shopping, services, travel and more. The APA receives a 50 percent profit on each item sold. Ask friends, family, neighbors and coworkers to support ACCESS through a Sally Foster or Entertainment Book purchase.
Volunteers needed to set campaign dates, promote the fundraiser, and collect and manage orders.
APA Hip Hop Halloween
Late October, Date and Time TBD
Each year, the APA hosts this spook-tacular costume and dance party for ACCESS students.
Volunteers are needed to chaperone, provide snacks, and manage event setup and teardown.
APA KidsArt Stationery Fundraiser
Mid-February, Date and Time TBD
The KidsArt Stationery fundraiser allows parents the opportunity to purchase customized notepads, notecards and more featuring their children’s artwork. These practical, fun items make perfect gifts for grandparents, aunts and uncles!
Volunteers are needed to coordinate artwork proofing times and collect and distribute orders.
APA Staff Appreciation Days
January, February and April, Dates and Times TBD
The ACCESS teachers, therapists and administrators work hard to provide our children with high-quality educational experiences and therapy services. APA hosts three staff appreciation days – breakfast, lunch and dessert – throughout the year to show our thanks for these professionals.
Volunteers are needed to arrange snacks and manage event setup and teardown.
